Check also the rubber fuel line inside the pump assembly! This is an expensive one because fuel resistant on both sides, but is likely to leak! This because of the high pressure inside this hose leaks are not visible by eye...

It starts up now...but dies almost at the same time. No throttle response at all.
I did regonize that the "excess voltage protective relay" is living a life of its own...clicks and makes an interesting buzzing sound. And if I'm not mistaken, that's the power supply for the KE-jetronic "brain".
That's the next part too have a look at.
Now it's pizza time instead
By the way - I bought the fuel pump at BJP Race in Sweden. They recommended the BOSCH 0 580 254 040 (They usually know what they are talking about...so I hope they did this time as well) Based on the specs I recieved from BOSCH Classic for the 018 pump.

Well, I bridged the relay and now it runs (think it was just a bad connection on one of the cables) but like crap.
Time for me to double check what previous owner have done and how. Check timing belts, ignition cables etc. After that, fuel pressure und so weiter!

Now it runs. All warning lights go out after it started. But the idle seems to live its own life. Perhaps a vacuum leak or I or perhaps it just needs to run for a while so everything comes to life.
Altough it "burns" oil behind the exhaust manifold. I'll try to clean. Perhaps it's just old oil gathered somewhere...or a lea around the oil stick or someting else. Don't want start a fire...yet

Now it runs on idle and sounds great. Havn't driven it yet though.
But my final repair was when I dropped the overload protective relay on the concrete floor....

Well...past the annual Swedish car inspection. The dipped beam was too low and no washer fluid (or actually...it was on the floor.... )
Now it's all small projects left. Priority one is to adjust the exhaust as it bangs into the floor and rear axle!
First trip was to Trollhättan and the weekly carmeet. A lot of former SAAB employees remembered that SAAB had a 8.32 as a reference car.
